According to a Feb. 21 report in “All App News”, “Netflix”, the popular app for streaming movies and TV shows, had just been updated.
You can now see the title of the movie you're watching in the iPad player user interface simply by touching the screen. Plus, the zoom icon is back so you can again decide when to watch in full screen mode and the Play/Pause and Back buttons have been given new positions for easier control. Compatible with iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Free.
Another cool update is to “Flickr”. This Yahoo-owned service has regained its luster. It is now focused on improving the mobile experience and being an alternative to “Instagram”. Here you can experience and create high-quality photos by taking them with this app's camera and sharing them with anyone, anywhere. There are tons of retouching and editing tools here and you can access your photos from either your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch..
With this new update, you can save photos from your Photostream to your Camera Roll. Also, your original photos will be saved to your camera roll and you can now take photos using iPhone's volume up button. Plus, you'll be notified when your contacts mention you. But the best part is, this app has gotten more social: you can now tag your contacts in photo comments and description by just entering @ with the screename. Free.
Talking about social apps, “Chain-Story” just received an update too. This is a really fun and addictive app. You start a story, then pass it to your Facebook friends who contribute. They then pass it to their friends (who see what they wrote but not what you wrote) who add to it and then pass it along. This app is free and it's totally free to play. Cool! Compatible with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
Also, “Truck Warrior Racer” has an update worth downloading today. In this cool game you're driving a truck armed with guns, missiles and Nitro Boost. Your mission is to race down the road and destroy any vehicle in front of you. Controls are simple: tilt from side to side to move from one side of the road to the other and tap one button to go faster and another button to fire.
