Free and not so free events in Orange County for March

Looking for a way to keep the kids active and entertained, Orange County has many free events, and some not so free events that are sure to please.

1. Every Sunday in March, from 12 noon to 12:30 p.m kids can join a free fishing clinic at the 'Dana Wharf'. The dockside experience teaches them new fishing techniques, new hook tying secrets and they can also win raffle prizes. No reservations are required. Immediately after the fishing clinic the kids can use the knowledge just learned on the free half-day trip, where the rental gear is included at no cost. The Dana Wharf Sportfishing clinic is at 34675 Golden Lantern, Dana Point.

2. On Saturday mornings in Huntington Beach, anyone, regardless of ability and age, can meet at 10:30 a.m. to go roller-blading The location is just north of the Huntington Pier at the amphitheater, and the skating is approximately 16 miles round trip. Frequent stops are made to allow everyone to catch up, skaters are asked to wear protective gear, especially wrist guards and helmets.

Parking is next to the pier at a cost of $9, however free parking can be found on any street from 6th to 17th where there are no meters.

3. Explore Ocean Science Saturdays and Sundays are offered free to children of all ages. This fun, interactive, hands-on experience connects the 7 essential princples of ocean literacy through science. The fun activities include making predictions, asking questions, problem solving and learning to think like a scientist, and each month a new thyme is introduced

4. March 29 - April 20 'Bubblefest' returns to Orange County. This interactive spring break spectacular will be at the 'Discovery Science Center, 2500 N. Main St, Santa Ana. Included in the general admission to the Discovery Science Center kids can visit the bubble zone, where they can try their hands at creating giant bubbles, join the interactive science activities and learn about the science behind the amazing Bubblefest Laser Show led by 'Fan Yang' direct from New York.

A seperate ticket is required to attend the 'Mega Bubbfest Laser Show, featuring a bubble carousel, bubbles within bubbles, smoking bubbles, spinning bubbles, bouncing bubbles and much more. Tickets can be purchased here.
