L.A. based, gritty and roots-driven folk/country artist, Brett Detar, has the capacity that he's a long-time veteran among the legendary country folk his songs place him in; i.e., Hank Williams, George Jones, Willie Nelson, among others. Brett was a former lead singer and guitar player of 9-year running rock group, The Juliana Theory.
With songs like 'Cocaine Whiskey and Heroin,' he sings with a strong sense of subtlety. His voice has much truth, and fans of Americana, folk, and country, will enjoy Brett's music from his debut solo album, Bird In The Tangle.
My choice pick from Bird In The Tangle is 'Caged Bird'; an acoustic ode to not give up and keep going on. My second pick is 'This World Ain't Got Nothing;' a fun, but honest portrayal of how we feel about life in this world.
