Art is accessible. Thanks to Museums on Us, general admission to over 150 cultural institutions across the nation is free on Saturday, March 1, 2014 and Sunday, March 2, 2014. Flash your Bank of America or Merrill Lynch card, along with your photo I.D., for one complimentary ticket.

Three Los Angeles museums are participating. If you're a World Cup fan, don't miss Fútbol: The Beautiful Game at LACMA, which examines soccer's impact around the world. Design maven? To the Point: Posters by Dan Reisinger at the Skirball highlights this international artist's innovative use of symbols and vibrant visual language. Want to buy art? Explore the Masters of the American West Fine Art Exhibition and Sale at The Autry before it ends on March 16, 2014.

Drive south to check out three other participating institutions. Whims and Absurdities features playful pieces from MOLAA’s Permanent Collection. Wayne Thiebaud shares his American Memories at the Laguna Art Museum. Or, learn why dogs sniff each other's butts and cats throw up hairballs at the Discovery Sicence Center's Animal Grossology exhibit, where this offer is valid only on Sunday.
