National Public Gardens Day is an annual event and is planned around Mother’s Day weekend. Touted as the unofficial start of spring, Mother’s Day weekend is the perfect time to take the family to a public garden and leisurely walk down the garden paths with your family. Mom will be thrilled at your thoughtfulness!
If you have never been to a public garden, there is much to see and learn in addition to enjoying quality time with your family. You can see how efficient watering practices are implemented and learn how to irrigate your home garden. Public gardens have huge collections of native and adaptable plants that you can consider for use in your garden. Seeing various landscape plantings will help you determine which designs and plants you like and don’t like to make it easier to create your dream landscape. Any time of year that you visit a public garden, there will be many different things to see and do.
