Free admission to over 18 L.A. museums January 26-27 (Video)

Budgeting is an art. The Museum Marketing Roundtable announces the eighth annual Museums Free-For-All, which will help balance yours. On Saturday, January 26, 2013, and Sunday, January 27, 2013 over 18 Southern California museums will offer complimentary general admission to everyone, though parking fees will still apply.

On Saturday and Sunday, you can peruse the Annenberg Space for Photography, the Autry, the California African American Museum, the Fowler Museum at UCLA, the Hammer Museum, the Getty Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Museum of Latin American Art, and the Paley Center for Media.

For both days, timed tickets are required at the Getty Villa. While you are free to explore the California Science Center, timed tickets are required to see the space shuttle, Endeavour. Similarly, timed-entry tickets to the Noah's Ark exhibit at the Skirball will be available on a walk-up, first come, first serve basis, subject to availability.

Complimentary admission to the Santa Monica Museum of Art is only available on Saturday, January 26, 2013. On Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., you're invited to the opening reception for Chockablock and Significant Ordinaries at The University Art Museum, CSULB.

On Sunday only, it's free to attend the Craft and Folk Art Museum, the Pacific Asia Museum, and the Pasadena Museum of California Art. At the Museum of Tolerance advanced reservations are currently sold out, so free admission will be be on a first-come, first-served basis; specific timed entry will be based on capacity. General admission is free at LACMA on Sunday as well, but you will still have to pay for the special, ticketed exhibitions, Caravaggio and His Legacy, and Stanley Kubrick.
