Free 6th annual Dog Bowl at Fair Park this Sunday

Treat your dog to a Texas-sized good time this Sunday! The Cotton Bowl will transform into a huge unleashed dog park for pups and pooches of every size to run, play, scamper and splash across Dallas’ most historical playing field at the 6th annual Dog Bowl from 1 - 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2012. This event is presented by Friends of Fair Park, and it is free and open to the public.

Dog Bowl will feature dip-and-sip splash pools, live music, pooch portraits ($5), paws of Paris canine crafts ($5) benefitting Friends of Fair Park, giveaways, plus a pet/owner look-alike contest.

Dozens of pet product vendors will offer canine clothing, pooch portraits, giveaways plus info on pet care companies, doggy daycares, boarders and more. Luv My Pet will offer special pricing on vaccinations and microchipping. Animal experts will be on hand to share advice and the latest trends in the tail-wagging world. Operation Kindness, Humane Society of Dallas County and other rescue groups will be on site with adoptable pets, plus local dog clubs and animal welfare organizations will be outside the Cotton Bowl at the Woofstock “tail” gating zone.

1 p.m. – Fair Park unlatches the gates to the Cotton Bowl
1:30 - 1:45 p.m. – One-stop fitness and obedience with Hustle-N-Heel
1:45 - 2:45 p.m. – Music by Barri Pearson
2:45 – 3:05 p.m. – One-stop fitness and obedience class with Hustle-N-Heel
3:20 - 4:20 p.m. – Music by Barri Pearson
4:20 - 4:40 p.m. – Pet/owner look-alike contest
