Free fitness classes courtesy of Healthy Huntsville have been offered in Big Spring Park on the first Saturday of each month since April. There are three more this year—in August, September, and October.

Healthy Huntsville is a 2014 city-wide initiative whose goal is to "Reduce obesity by promoting healthy eating and active lifestyles." The City of Huntsville, HudsonAlpha, Huntsville City Schools, Huntsville Hospital, and the Madison County Health Department are partnering with community organizations to offer free programs that help educate area citizens on wellness and physical health. The Saturday Classes in Big Spring Park are one of those offerings.

WHAT: Healthy Huntsville: Saturday Classes in Big Spring Park

WHO: Suitable for all ages.

WHY: You want to exercise, learn more about healthy choices, and take a free fitness class.

WHEN: The first Saturday of the month through October. August 2 - 8:30 a.m. Interval Workout; 10:00 a.m. Pilates. September 6 - 8:30 a.m. Piyo; 10:00 a.m. Zumba. October 4 - 8:30 a.m. Interval Workout; 10:00 a.m. Pilates.

WHERE: Big Spring Park East (near the rock fountain) in Huntsville, Alabama. Big Spring Park is at the intersection of Church Street and Williams Avenue.

HOW: Free to the public; just show up ready to exercise. Classes are outdoors so be sure to stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.
