Franktuary, the local hot dog emporium tucked under Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Pittsburgh, has morphed from a rather simple "hot dog-on-a-bun" operation to one of the hippest, most diverse lunch spots in town. And now, with a new Kerouac-esque mindset, the little hot dog shop that could has taken to the road www.franktuary.com.
Within the confines of the 'Burgh, the truck is reported to be hovering in the Strip, in Oakland around supper time, then South Side for late-night revelers. Featuring veggie, traditional or grass-fed organic dogs, the truck's kitchen includes grills, a deep fryer and steam tables, allowing cooks to make items not available at the restaurant.
At the moment, the menu is advertising organic locally farmed grass-fed beef Frankfurter small $3.50/ large $5.50; organic locally farmed grass-fed beef Sliders, 2 for $5.50; Carrot Dog $3; Veggie Dog $3.50; French Fries $3; Fried Pickle Chips $3; Sodas and bottled water $2.
"Franks be to god" you can pay with a credit card.
