Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce from her husband, Jason Hoppy. Over a week ago, the reality star announced her separation from Hoppy after more than 2 years of marriage. On Jan. 5, TMZ confirmed that Frankel filed divorce papers in New York earlier this week.
"It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family," Frankel said in a statement on Dec. 23. Bethenny and Jason are parents to one little girl, Bryn, who is 2.5-years-old.
Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce months after split rumors surfaced on the internet. Despite her constant denial, it turns out that things didn't work out with her and Hoppy after all. Naturally no one goes in to a marriage expecting to get divorced and it is certainly a very hard time for Frankel and Hoppy. Friends say that Bethenny is "devastated."
While Bethenny does seem to realize that she will be better off without Hoppy, it is still not an easy thing to go through. Her fans, however, support her and will stand by her through this tough time in her life.
Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce before Hoppy, but he may file papers of his own in the coming days.
