Frank, a 1 ½ years old American Bulldog was found on the side of the road in Jackson, GA earlier this year, hungry and covered in ticks. American Bulldog Rescue stepped up and took him in. They found a foster for him in Atlanta where he has been for the past few months.
Within a couple of weeks, Frank and his amazing personality won the hearts of ABR. He has been described as the happiest, most loving bulldog around. His tail never stops wagging; he presses into you for affection, and runs around in little circles when he's excited. Frank also has a humorous side to his personality and will tell you exactly how he feels by "talking" to you!
In his foster home, Frank finally experienced love for the first time and learned various commands. The future was looking bright for this little boy and his happy, go lucky personality.
Last weekend, ABR was thrilled to see that Frank had achieved the happy ending they so badly wanted for him. A couple in Augusta, GA adopted him and took him home. However, four days later, they came home from work and found Frank unconscious in a pool of blood. He was hemorrhaging severely and was rushed to the ER. At the ER, his heart stopped beating and he had to be revived and put on oxygen.
Frank is such a stellar dog, even though he was in excruciating pain that day while he slowly bled out, he still didn't want to soil the house and was found by the back door, trying to go do his business outside. It is heartbreaking to think what this poor boy went through that day.
To make matters worse for poor Frank, his new family turned their backs on him and decided they didn't want him anymore because he got sick. Frank is now stranded in Augusta, GA, with nobody to visit him, until he's healthy enough to go back to his foster home in Atlanta. Frank is now getting better every day and a full recovery is expected. The cause of his illness is still unknown.
Frank's vet bill is $4000.00 and ABR is still struggling to pay it. This is the holiday season, the season to give and help one another with selfless acts. Please help dear Frank get his Christmas wish of good health and a loving family. ABR and Frank will be extremely grateful. Frank is only 1 1/2 years old and has a wonderful life ahead. Let’s give this dog reason to keep his happy tail wagging.
