Frank Shiner's single Feels Like Home is medicine to the ears

I am definitely taking a shine to the single Feels Like Home, from the forthcoming album The Real Me by Frank Shiner. The single dropped today in advance of the release of the album on June 24, 2014, on Bakerson/Pyramid Records. Produced by Gary Katz, the single is just a foretaste of the greatness that awaits the world upon the release of the new album, and I for one can hardly wait.

Frank Shiner's new single Feels Like Home drops March 25

The tune, written by Randy Newman for his 1995 musical version of Faust and performed by Bonnie Raitt, was also recorded by Linda Rondstadt, Canadian artist Chantal Kreviazak, a trio composed of Rondstadt, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris, and a duet of Martina McBride and Raul Maulo, as well as Newman himself.

It is arguably one of the most beautiful love ballads I have ever heard. Its greatness lies in its simplicity, which Shiner brings forth with startling clarity, adding his own voice to this timeless and classic song.

Just when you thought that Josh Groban and Michael Buble' held the patent on amazing voices, along comes Shiner to shatter those preconceived notions. He brings a richness and serenity to this song that none of the previous versions have been able to capture.

In addition to the single, Shiner also released the official music video, directed by Anton Evangelista, which powerfully conveys the underlying message of the song.

Shiner had this to say about the song: "I chose the song because it is the quintessential love ballad which is absolutely brilliant in its simplicity. It tells the story of a man who felt lost and alone, until a woman came and changed his life. This is such a relatable feeling to me, and I believe it is to anyone who has experienced true love. It touched me deep inside. My favorite line in this song is 'I never thought I'd love anyone so much.'"

Enjoy this melodious treat while you wait for the release of The Real Me. June can’t come quickly enough!
