Will Frank Ocean steal the show tonight at Sunday's Grammy Awards? It certainly isn’t out of the question.
According to NPR, the twenty-five year old R&B rising star has six nominations and is clearly one to watch Sunday night. He is in the running for best new artist and will be performing to remind viewers just why he is justly up for the award.
It was only a few months ago when Ocean’s music was not the topic of the discussion as a fascination regarding his sexuality took precedence.
After a listening party for his album “Channel Orange” last summer, a journalist pointed out that a few of the love songs referenced a "him" where there is usually a "her."
All of a sudden it seemed the entire Internet was asking one question: Is Frank Ocean gay?
A couple of days later, he opened up about his sexuality on Tumblr. He shared, "4 summers ago, I met somebody, I was 19 years old. He was too. We spent that summer, and the summer after, together."
What year is it again? 2013? So, Ocean’s outing certainly isn’t as big of a shock in this day and age as it would have been years ago. We’ve come a long way baby …
Most of today’s music fans could not care less about an artist’s sexual preference as long as they are providing solid entertainment.
It appears that Frank Ocean’s talent has not been overshadowed by his Tumblr announcement; nor should it be.
The 55th Grammy Awards show will be aired by CBS on Sunday at 8 p.m. EST. Tune in to see who walks away as the biggest winner!
