Frank Ocean says he won’t press charges against Chris Brown

R&B singer Frank Ocean is standing up and being a bigger man after another altercation with Chris Brown. According to CNN on Sunday, Ocean is choosing “sanity” and letting the fight with Brown go.

The two got into a physical altercation on January 27 that is being investigated by authorities. Brown was accused of punching an unnamed victim on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. Ocean claimed he was that unnamed victim in a tweet.

“(G)ot jumped by chris and a couple guys. Lol. I only wish Everest was there. ©ut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the grammys.”

According to witnesses six men were fighting over a parking space at a recording studio. At the time deputies did not release the name of the victim punched by Brown.

This isn’t the first time Brown and Ocean have had altercations. Back in July of 2012, Brown was accused of making homophobic comments towards Ocean who came out as gay in a letter which described his relationship with another man in detail. Ocean was the first R&B singer to come out and risked shades of homophobia with his decision. Until Brown’s alleged comments, he has been embraced for his courage in coming out of the closet.

Chris Brown did clear up his stance on same-sex marriage and homosexuality in a tweet:

“My opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is…Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS.”

It is obvious that the two pop stars still have a beef with each other. The two will be going up against each other as both are nominated for Grammys in two categories.

As for the latest confrontation, Ocean wrote on his Tumblr account on Saturday night:

“No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit. As a child, I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man. But as a man I am not a killer. I’m an artist and a modern person. I’ll choose sanity.”
