Since the release on January 16th of Frank Lisciandro’s book “Jim Morrison: Friends Gathered Together” it has drawn a lot of interest from fans, good sales and some great reviews (read The Doors Examiner review “Absolutely Essential”). This past Monday February 3, Lisciandro appeared on Stephen Long’s Rare Bird Radio Show for a 40 minute interview.
Lisciandro discussed the genesis of the book, how he met Ray Manzarek and Jim Morrison, working on the films “Feast of Friends” and “HWY” as well how people, Jim Morrison especially were trying to define the 60’s as they were living it. One of the most interesting parts of the interview is Lisciandro’s take on Jim Morrison’s stage performances, and that Morrison should be considered more as a stage actor. You can listen to the interview at Rare Bird Radio.
Doors factoid of the day: in the interview Lisciandro mentions that the judge in the Miami case, Judge Murray Goodman was indicted for corruption, that happened on February 5, 1973.
