Gateway Motorsports Park will host Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School in May 2014, adding the track to its regular schedule of stops.
“We’re excited to begin classes at Gateway Motorsports Park in St. Louis, Missouri,” said Hawley. “It is a beautiful facility and St. Louis is a great city. It has fabulous hotels, wonderful restaurants and is conveniently located in the center of the Mid West.”
The visit to Gateway will feature two separate programs, including the popular two-day Super Comp and Super Gas licensing program. There will also be a new Adventure program, allowing participants to race dragsters in “side-by-side” competition.
The licensing program runs Monday and Tuesday, May 5th and 6th, allowing drivers of all backgrounds the chance to earn their NHRA competition license in the school’s Chevy Performance 572/720R-equipped Super Comp Dragsters or Super Gas Firebirds; there is also a “bring your own car” program. Students will learn in classroom sessions how the mind and body work together and how to prepare mentally for a race.
The Dragster Adventure program is a half-day program on Saturday, May 3rd. the course is designed for drivers who want to drive a dragster without committing the time and resources to becoming a licensed driver, and includes side-by-side action. The Dragster Adventure program starts at $399.
