Frank Grillo discusses the prospective Crossbones in 'Captain America 3'

According to Collider on Saturday, "The Purge: Anarchy's" Frank Grillo discussed his future projects as well as the future of his character in the Russo brother's "Captain America 3" movie. He's also known as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones in the film and is rather "cautiously optimistic" though he hasn't really confirmed his character's return to the Marvel Studios movie.

Grillo has been signed up with a multi-picture deal with Marvel and with appearing barely conscious in the "Captain America: Winter Soldier" movie, it does seem to suggest a future with Grillo as its left quite open ended. There are no guarantees that Rumlow would appear in numerous future comic book movies, but Grillo mentioned that there is no reason that Marvel wouldn't make it apparent that Rumlow's appearance on the gurney was without purpose. So it's obvious that segment of him being uncovered from the rubble is for a reason. Also, Grillo mentioned that the Russo brothers clarified that since this is a "Captain America" origin story, that some how his Crossbones character factored into that.

“Very early on the Russos said, ‘Look, this is an origin film for this character. We’re gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we’re gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here’s the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into and blah, blah, blah.’"

Grillo is also involved in numerous projects and he couldn't believe how fast they were coming out. Projects such as the DIRECTV series "Kingdom", "Purge: The Anarchy", "The Raid" which is a remake, and "Demonic." Grillo marveled at the fact of how much efficiently they've been churning out the projects.

For those who aren't familiar with certain Marvel tie-ins, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" had its own connection to ABC's "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Apparently, while Grillo's Brock Rumlow was on the side of Hydra to overthrow the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization as it was run by Robert Redford's Alexander Pierce, agents on Agent Melinda May's "bus" had been overthrown by Hydra operatives former S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents Ward and John Garrett. As it stands now, there is no S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and now Earth is under Tony Stark's protection as it has been currently privatized.

"Captain America 3" is scheduled to be released in theaters come May 6, 2016.
