Judge Steven T. O'Neill sentenced Earl C. Heitz of Norristown, Pa. to four years of probation and banned him from owning any animals during that time after Heitz pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and felony possession of three rifles at the Montgomery County Court House on Friday afternoon reported the Phillyburbs.com.
Heitz, 53, of the 100 block of Forrest Road was also ordered to forfeit all of the animals seized by the SPCA on March 21 when authorities were called to the property after a report of an injured goat.
The three rifles were also forfeited because of Heitz' former felony conviction related to a past drug charge.
Not only did the police find a goat with a broken jaw, but also discovered 21 other animals including dogs, cats, chinchillas, reptiles, and goats living in filth and feces.
Franconia Township Code Enforcement condemned Heitz' home.
The animals will be available for adoption through the Montgomery County SPCA.
