Fracking and Fundraising - Events you may want to attend

Youngstown - The Covelli Center is hosting a public information hearing regarding Hydraulic Fracturing (Fracking) in the Youngstown area Wednesday, Jan 11, at 5 pm. The Covelli Center is located at 229 East Front Street in Youngstown. All interested may attend.

A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17, at YSU Kilcawley Center in the Chestnut Room at 10 am. State Rep. Sean O'Brien (D-64) arranged the hearing with other public officials before the state natural resources and agriculture subcommittee. This meeting is also open to the public.

Fundraisers Planned

A Spaghetti dinner fundraiser will be held at the Bloomfield Township Meeting Room, 2063 Kinsman Rd in N Bloomfield for Roger Peterson, Candidate for Ohio State Representative for the 64th District. Donations accepted at the door.

Peterson is running against incumbent Tom Letson, who voted to raise his pay and raise taxes retroactively on his constituents in the same bill in 2009.

A fundraiser is being held Thursday, January 19, at Avion on the Water, 2177 Western Reserve Rd in Canfield for Dr. Marisha Agana, Candidate for Congress, 13th District. Cash bar opens at 6:30 and dinner served at 7. Tickets $50. Call for Reservations (330) 967-0202.

Agana is running against incumbent Tim Ryan, who in 2010 advised that it was necessary to raise taxes on small business because there was no spending the government could cut. Ryan also refused to meet with his constituents during the Obamacare debacle.

Agana, a Medical Doctor, opposes Obamacare.
