'Foxy' February

The River's Edge Theatre in Yorkville, located just 10 miles southwest of Aurora and just a "foxtrot" away from Illinois' beautiful Fox River, has three fun family comedies lined up for the month of February, brought to you by PR Productions.

PR Productions is a local community theatre company that formed in May 2011, producing plays and improv shows that were primarily showed at venues like the Sandwich Opera House and the Stagecoach Theatre in DeKalb. They expanded their venue base to The River's Edge Theatre in Yorkville last fall and are seeking new talent and theaters across Illinois.

This Saturday (and the first Saturday of every month), PR's funniest players will take the stage for Improv Comedy Night, a monthly show with no scripts, no rules, but plenty of laughs as well as audience interaction. Tickets are $12 and the show starts at 8pm.

For a much younger audience, Shel Silverstein's children's poetry classic Where the Sidewalk Ends comes to life on the stage as PR's actors illustrate the famouse poet's surreal imagery and imagination. Tickets are $10 and showtimes are Feb. 9th and 23rd at 10am.

On February 14-17 at 8pm, love is in the air as playwright Rich Orloff's romantic comedy Romantic Fools is performed by the PR team. Romantic Fools is considered to be a "comic vaudeville". As a series of 12 two-character sketches are displayed, the audience will take in the wacky situations from the mind of Rich Orloff that you will not normally see in everyday dating and relationships.

The River's Edge Theatre can be found at 217 South Bridge St. (Rt. 47) in Yorkville and is in walking distance from Yorkville's Riverfront Park, The Kendall Grille, Cobblestone Bistro and Bakery, River City Roasters, and Casa Santiago.
