It’s that time of year where everyone speculates whether their favorite shows will be picked up or dropped by networks next season. Good news for Batman fans though as Fox has officially picked up the prequel series Gotham! Up to now, Fox had only committed to a Pilot episode with “series commitments” and would pay Warner Bros. a penalty if they had declined the latter part of the deal. We now know Fox will air at least 13 episodes of the show.

Gotham takes place prior to the debut of Batman in the city riddled with crime. It will focus on a young detective James Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie (The OC). The first trailer for the show will apparently air tonight during the return of the rebooted Fox show, 24: Live Another Day.
