During the Factor episode that aired on Mar. 5, 2013, Fox host Bill O’Reilly led an epic, fiery debate over the legitimacy of President Obama’s policies in regard to cutting spending with liberal pundit Alan Colmes and conservative pundit Monica Crowley.
And needless to say, O’Reilly literally came unglued at the political hinges for the entire world to see, as he literally incinerated Colmes with a fury.
O’Reilly kept demanding that Colmes agree with him that the Obama administration is willing to sell the country down the political river to make “Americans suffer” just so Democrats can “have Nancy Pelosi as the new Speaker of the House” in 2014, which is why Obama is so willing “to make it impossible” for a compromise with Republicans to happen.
Then O’Reilly accused the Obama administration of only wanting to raise taxes without any spending cuts. Colmes disagreed with him, as he brought up Obama’s offer of $2.50 in tax cuts for every dollar in tax increases, but that wasn’t good enough for O’Reilly, as he slammed his fist down on the table, pointed his finger at Colmes, and proceeded to go off with a vengence.
He then yells at Colmes and says:
“Alright, hold it, hold it, because now I’m getting teed off at you! Give me one damn program he said he’d cut—one? Not entitlements, one program—bulls*t! Because you are lying! You are lying here! You are lying!”
“Here is the proof! This is why I’m calling you a liar. Give me one program he said he’d cut.”
Colmes replied to try and defend himself by saying:
“Why are you yelling? I’m not lying Bill. Don’t call me a liar! Don’t you sit there and call me a liar!”
“We can have a disagreement without you calling me a liar. That’s not necessary. I am not lying. There is a difference between having a disagreement and calling me a liar. That’s a personal attack!”
Colmes then told a grumpy O’Reilly that Obama has proposed “cutting Medicare and Medicaid.” You asked for a program, and “those are programs.”
But O’Reilly, still unsatisfied, continued on with his bludgeoning of a meager Colmes by angrily and patronizingly saying:
“You think that sitting in an Oval Office for 5 years with a $17-trillion-dollar debt and refusing to say one program that he’d cut, you don’t think that’s putting a burden on the American people?”
“No, you’re not telling me anything! It’s jack what you’re saying! This is bull-blank!”
"I don't give a damn about his (Obama's) progressive base. We're being conned, and you buying the con and putting out BS (Bullsh*t)!”
O’Reilly was in a heated form, and he was obviously taking no prisoners on this occasion, and poor Colmes was just a hapless seal floating at the top of the ocean as the great O’Reilly shark blindsided him with deadly force.
But somehow Colmes kept his cool, even though O'Reilly talked to him like he was nothing and treated him like a delinquent child.
Colmes wasn’t thrown to the wolves. He was thrown to a pissed off, conservative, grizzly bear with an Obama axe to grind over his head, which was accomplished with zeal!
So be sure and watch this exchange as soon as you can. It was very entertaining to say the least, as long as you were not a battered and bruised Alan Colmes.
Nevertheless, later during the show O’Reilly did admit that he got just a little bit out of control with Colmes, and he did express some remorse over it.
