FOX picks up ‘Alcatraz’ for 12 episodes

Collider.com reports that the FOX network has ordered a dozen episodes of J.J. Abrams upcoming sci-fi drama “Alcatraz.”

Filming took place last month in Vancouver and San Francisco, including a two day-shoot on Alcatraz Island.

“Alcatraz” stars Sarah Jones, Jorge Garcia, Jeffrey Pierce, Robert Forster, Sam Neill, and Jason Butler Harner. 

Elizabeth Sarnoff’s story follows a female cop (Jones), and a team of FBI agents investigating the case of missing Alcatraz guards and prisoners who mysteriously reappear in the present day.

The pilot debuts this fall on FOX.
