Keep track, television fans, because at the rate of pick-ups FOX is giving us for the 2014-2015 television season, it doesn't seem like they have a whole lot of plans for many of their current shows to still be on next year. After all, they are a network with finite number of hours (they still don't program the 10 p.m. hour, for example), and even if they are looking for shorter, more "event" oriented orders, they already have a lot in the works! Today they announced yet another one, Hieroglyph, which will be a "fantastical action-adventure show" with a 13-episode series order.
Set in ancient Egypt, where fantasy and reality intertwined, Hieroglyph ollows a notorious thief who is plucked from prison to serve the Pharoah, navigating palace intrigue, seductive concubines, criminal underbellies and even a few divine sorcerers.
“We wanted to do a show about deceit, sex, intrigue in the court and fantastical goings-on – no better place to set that than ancient Egypt,” Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment for FOX said in a statement to the press.
“Travis Beacham has an inventive mind, and he has wrapped this all together in this intoxicating new drama.”
Production will start in 2014, though there is no initial information about when it will air.
