Today, March 10, Fox made the announcement that “Raising Hope” has officially been cancelled, as reported by TV Line. The show will conclude April 4, with a one-hour series finale. The finale consists of two 30-minute episodes featuring guest stars Lesley Nicol, Jeffrey Tambor, and Kenny Loggins.
“Raising Hope” comes to a close after four seasons, and the show’s creators admitted they wrote the finale with the thought in mind the show could be cancelled. In a statement, Mike Mariano, the executive producer of “Raising Hope” said:
We planned our Season 4 finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.
This news comes on the heels of Fox’s renewal announcements for “Brooklynn Nine-Nine,” “The Mindy Project,” “New Girl,” and “The Following.” All four were officially renewed for next season last week. “Raising Hope,” on the other hand, was moved to Fridays this season, a tell-tale sign that a show is headed out, but fans hoped that wouldn’t be the case.
One star of “Raising Hope,” Lucas Neff, who plays Jimmy, took to Twitter to express his feelings and bid his character farewell:
Thanks for watching!
Thanks to the writers, directors, cast mates + fans who made it possible.
Another star, Shannon Woodward, who plays Sabrina, also posted on her Twitter page:
Thanks everyone for watching our awesome 4 year run on @RaisingHopeFOX . Check out our series finale April 4.
