A Fox News affiliate from Virginia ran a story with video on a UFO over Centreville on November 3, 2010, that was photographed over Lee Highway.
Witness Bryan Fains stated that the object moved back and forth in the sky horizontally, and then stopped and moved up vertically. The witness used his iphone to video tape the object during the 10-minute observation. The blue light remained on and did not blink. The object was silent.
This case has not been reported to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON).
Another case that has not yet been reported to MUFON, occurred just seven miles south of Centreville on October 16, 2010. Here is the unedited witness statement.
UFO Seen on the side of Route 66 Between Manassas and Gainesville Virginia.
I had a Sighting on October 16 2010 in Northern Virginia around 6:30pm.
I was driving with my wife West on RT 66, after Manassas and before the Gainesville Va exit, I saw on the other side of the East bound lanes a large dark object with multiple bright lights that seemed to form the shape of a V or an elongated Triangle. The object was black and had several (8-12) bright white lights on the bottom.
The object was hovering, didn't make any sound and was only 200-300 feet in the air. As I passed the object I slowed down and tried desperately to observe every little detail possible. One interesting fact is where the object was hovering.
The object was hovering over a local farm and was hovering above what looked to be horses. This was the only area/field that seemed to have any farm animals (Horses) in them.
I would estimate the size of the object to be about the size of two large jumbo jets or possibly even larger. I suspect there are multiple witnesses since this sighting occurred around 6:30pm in an area where the traffic was moderately heavy. I do want to point out that I'm a lifelong Amateur Astronomer that is very familiar with the Day and Nighttime sky. And as any good investigator should do I have searched for other possibilities of what this object might have been.
The only thing I do know for sure is this object was definitely not a Helicopter or any other type of Conventional aircraft. If there are any others who were driving in this area of Gainesville, Haymarket, Manassas or Fairfax Virginia and also saw this Sighting. Please post what you saw.

In response to "Another case that has not yet been reported to MUFON", I was not witness to the described scene you spoke of above around the Manassas area however, I too have seen the object you described. My sighting occured on September 10th going west bound on highway40 just outside of Statesville, VA. The time was aproximately 8 pm and the object was directly south of the freeway. The object was in a a lit 'V' formation with evenly spread white non-blinking lights. I would estimate the size of th eobject to be equal to or larger than three C130's wing tip to wing tip. The object hovered for around 5 minutes and then slowly began to move in a southenly direction until it was no longer in our view.
I spend 12 years in the US Army and was constantly around aircraft so, I know what I saw was unlike nothing we have (known) in our arsenal. I am also a self proclaimed amateur astronomer and I know the difference between sattelites and stars, etc.
This object was like nothing I have ever witnessed before. To this day I am thnkful for the opportunity I was given to see such a magnificent creation.
So, you weren't freaked out or anything when you saw this?
To JuJu - To be honest, I was not freaked out by it. It did not "feel" threatening in any way. In fact it seemed a comfortable sight to me. I spend a lot of my free time investigating UFO cases on the internet so, I believe I have become desensitized to the whole thing really. They seem more common place today than anything. I think I would be more freaked out if we stopped seeing these sorts of things in the sky :D
I live in Manassas Park and I saw the triangle shaped craft just a few days ago. At first I dismissed it as an aircraft since I live so close to Dulles airport but it was moving far too slowly and appeared to be much larger.

On 6/26//10 just after midnight, I encountered the same blue colored UFO oh hwy 150 just east of Greenville In.. It was three spoke in shape, like mercedes benz emblem, white lights the width of each spoke on the spike end, like a lantern globe. It also had a larger white round light in the center where the spokes met, the blue lights lined the center of the spokes between the white lights. When I first saw it as I drove toward it, the blue lights were all on and very bright, I first thought it was large blue fluorescence lights with white light ends. As I approached the ufo it turned all the blue lights off except for one on each spoke next to the outside white ones, and the blue lights were turned down. I coasted the car to a stop just short and left of the craft as it hovered noiseless less than 100 foot away. The white lights pulsed in different sequences and it floated over top of me and out of sight over tree tops.. As it passed directly overhead I heard a quiet jet like sound with a loud series of crackle pops mixed in with it, like static electricity on steroids. It went quickly dead quiet as it passed by overhead just as it had started, definitely very directional. I had the convertible top down on my car. I did not about this site and posted something about my experience on TOPIX, Greenville Indiana, You can read more there as someone else claimed to see something earlier that evening. The night was cloudless and a full moon, could not ask for better vision at night.
People, this is not what you think it is. I saw the SAME object around midnight on a August evening. I was going south on 28 and as I was approaching Manassas Park it went right over my head by 200 ft. I came to find out that there is a company called "Aurora Flight Sciences" that manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles. I think they are located off of Wakeman Drive. They were most likely doing test flights for a classified vehicle.
