After his prediction of a huge victory for presidential election candidate Mitt Romney did not come true, political commentator Dick Morris has lost his job at Fox News Channel, according to a Feb. 5 Associated Press report.
Fox network spokeswoman Dana Klinghoffer said Feb. 5 that Fox was not renewing its contract with Morris. The political commentator remained adamant of throughout the campaign, predicting a landslide win for Romney over President Barack Obama. He has made only a few appearances on the network ever since President Obama won his second term.
In addition to his zealous Romney-will-beat-Obama prediction, Morris has also faced criticism for accepting paid advertisements on his website from candidates that he discussed on the air at Fox.
Fox recently hired former congressman Dennis Kucinich as a contributor, and has cut back the airtime of top Republican commentator Karl Rove, who together with Morris predicted the huge wins for Romney.
Morris is reportedly scheduled to appear on CNN’s Piers Morgan show on Feb. 6 to discuss politics.
