FOX CT News honors International Women's Day with breasts (Video)

The Huffington Post reported on March 13 that a FOX affiliate in Connecticut is under fire for its decision to show stock footage of women’s breasts during a story about a march in honor of International Women’s Day. The newscast starts innocently enough as the anchors talk about the importance of women in society, but takes a sexist turn when close-up footage is shown of women walking by at chest level.

The station’s female co-anchor is visibly uncomfortable when the camera cuts back to the anchor desk during the story.

Fox CT News has tweeted an apology stating, “FOX CT apologizes for today’s file footage error. We will continue to recognize great contributions of women in CT and around the world.”

Some viewers are not buying the station's apology. Users on Twitter have noted that FOX CT News used the same breast footage again when a shortened version of the story ran later in the broadcast. Other viewers have questioned why the network would even have this footage laying around.
