Right wing commentator Bill O’Reilly has a beef with Gen X actress Jennifer Aniston. According to the host of the O’Reilly Factor on Fox, Aniston is irresponsible for speaking out in favor of single parents.
O’Reilly said, "She's throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that, 'Hey you don't need a guy. You don't need a dad.' "That is destructive to our society." O’Reilly blew a gasket on his show this week after Jennifer Aniston said, "Women are realizing it more and more knowing that they don't have to settle with a man just to have that child. Times have changed and that is also what is amazing is that we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents' days when you can't have children because you have waited too long."
Aniston was out promoting her new movie, “The Switch” which comes out on August 20th. The movie is about a single woman who uses a sperm donor to get pregnant. Given the movie she is promoting, is it really so strange that she would be talking about the subject of single parenthood?
Many Gen X women have gone the way of sperm donors to have children, rather than waiting to meet the right “person”, and possibly having their biological clock pass them by. So what’s the big deal with her comments?
O’Reilly has a long list of Hollywood celebrities he has attacked over the years for one thing or another. He is a commentator, so it makes sense that he would seek to debate the single parent topic which can be a hot button for some people.
He also is a strong proponent of the U.S. Constitution, which gives everyone, including Jennifer Aniston, the right to speak their minds and say how they feel about a topic. For the hundreds of thousands of women who have a utilized sperm donor to have a child, Jennifer Aniston is not “destructive to society” but is instead an independent woman speaking her truth and theirs.

Bill O'Reilly is a blowhard--Aniston only spoke the truth, you just technically don't need a man to raise a child with you if you really want a child.
I feel that it is more healthy for a child to have a two parent household. With this said, I feel we are a free society of free choices. Just because I feel this way does not make it right or wrong if parent(s) choose to raise the child another way,be they gay, single or two parents etc (love is the key to raising a child). As for Billy O'Reilly, I feel he is a twisted nut with a major problem with anyone who see our nation as a free society.
I saw that episode..he elaborated that a woman can very well raise a child on her own, but it is not an optimum situation. And most of Aniston's fan base does not have her resources..she can afford to hire help..but you can't hire a dad.
Salient points.
And any father that doesn't do the right thing by their kids is not a man.
And Mr. Bill did not tell us what kind of message her husband Brad Pitt sent, when he left her for Angelina Jolie, had two children with her out of wedlock, and thus made the new couple into "America's Sweethearts."
Typical Bill OReilly outburst. Do you think Jennifer will respond? - you just know that is exactly what OReilly is hoping for.
It's hardly accurate to call what Bill-O does debating.
I think that both sides can speak their minds, and people can decide what is best for themselves.
