I don’t know about you but I’m not one to rush to be in throngs of people especially at Harborplace for firework displays on the water whether New Year’s Eve or the 4th of July. This 4th of July there is definitely a great alternative for not only adults but also kids to enjoy the fireworks in style at Wit & Wisdom at the Four Seasons Hotel. It has all the components I would want; really good food from Executive Chef Zack Mills of Wit & Wisdom and guest Chef Tim Dyson from Bluegrass, cocktails by mixologist Aaron Joseph, front row seat to the fireworks, numerous activities for the kids and the valet parking is inclusive.

What better place to celebrate then where history was made with the writing of the Star Spangled Banner – “And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air.” You will be up close and personal with a front row seats to the fireworks.

The menu is fit for a foodie, with modern twists on nostalgic staples, like Chesapeake fried chicken, pit beef sandwiches topped with tiger sauce and caramelized onions and bratwurst drizzled with beer mustard and sauerkraut. Seafood lovers are in for an ultra-fresh treat with the chef’s specialty oyster-shucking station, an ode to the local flavors of the Chesapeake Bay. Sides include grilled corn on the cob, Mom’s potato salad and classic mac ‘n cheese. For beer, cocktail and wine connoisseurs alike, Wit & Wisdom has partnered with local brewer, Union Craft Brewing for its beer offering, serving signature cocktails and handpicked wine by Sommelier Julie Dalton.

The Rio Quartet will serenade the party with its contemporary vocals from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Forget the babysitter, an on-site snowball machine, face painting, cookie decorating and other activities. The night will end with a bang as the Baltimore fireworks show lights up the panoramic views of the historic Inner Harbor.
