In Silicon Valley, America’s Independence Day is a time to join together with friends and family to celebrate what makes our nation great. From pancake breakfasts to barbecues and picnics, safely enjoying fireworks displays is a time-honored tradition from Morgan Hill to San Jose and Mountain View.

A big thank you to the San Jose Rotary Club(along with Santa Clara County and the city of San Jose) for bringing the fireworks show back after a 6-year hiatus. (Note, there is no daylong festival event.
Can’t make it to the event? Enjoy the patriotic music simulcast on KLIV-AM 1590.) The Rotarians sponsored the program in honor of the organization's centennial.

PLAZA DE CESAR CHAVEZ Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th: FUN, but no fireworks (except in your mouth) at the San Jose Bacon Festival at Plaza de Cesar Chavez.

ALMADEN LAKE PARK Friday, July 4th; for the first time ever, fireworks at San Jose's Almaden Lake Park.

Santa Clara
Friday, July 4. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m. at Central Park. Free

Expect surrounding city streets to be blocked off to create safety zones. Attendees should plan to arrive and park at least 1 hour prior to dark, and respect residential parking laws. Carpooling and using public transportation is encouraged.

During this current extreme drought, citizens are reminded to obey the law and refrain from setting off any individual fireworks of any kind in Santa Clara County.

Only the city of Gilroy in Santa Clara county allows the sale of “safe and sane fireworks”, and said fireworks must only be used in Gilroy. Even possession of fireworks outside of Gilroy carries steep fines, so enjoy one of the many public fireworks displays.
