Independence Day weekend in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois is festive, with community festivals in Arlington Heights, Barrington, Hoffman Estates, Mount Prospect and Palatine. Following are the festivals and fireworks honoring America's birthday for 2010.


Arlington Heights Frontier Days and Fireworks

Arlington Heights Frontier Days Festival in downtown Arlington Heights runs from July 1-5, 2010. Arlington Heights Frontier Days celebrates 4th of July. Arlington Park Race Track offers 4th of July activities from July 2-5. The fireworks show at Arlington Park is on Saturday, July 3 at 9:30. Due to the popularity of the event, they suggest that people get to the park by 6:00 p.m. To see the fireworks from within the park. The gates close at 6:45. Independence Day celebrated with Frontier Days Festival  in Arlington Heights


Barrington

Barrington's 26th Annual 4th of July Festival is a four day event from June 30-July 3 at the Barrington Train Station. The family friendly festival includes a brat and beer tent, food vendors, games and more. Free admission before 6:00 p.m. $5 adult admission after 6: p.m. Wednesday: 5pm-11:30pm,Thursday-Friday:10am-11:30pm, Saturday: 11am-1:30pm

Buffalo Grove

The 4th of July concert and fireworks in Buffalo Grove will be a the Rotary Village Green Northside of Old Checker Road. The Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band presents a two hour pre- fireworks concert starting at 7:00 p.m. The Independence Day Fireworks Stow is at 9:15 p.m.

Deerfield Family Days
The two day celebration takes place, Saturday and Sunday, July 3-4- at Jewitt Park.

Village of Hoffman Estates July 1 – 5

The popular 4th of July Festival in Hoffman Estates includes a parade, music, food and fireworks. The parade takes place on Hassell Road on Saturday morning. The fireworks show is on Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. Hoffman Estates celebrates with 4 day 4th of July Festival.


The Mount Prospect Lions Fest

The Lions Club Festival runs June 30-July 4 at Melas Park, near the corner of Central and Busse Roads. The festival stars off with a bang on Wednesday with music by American English at 8:30 p.m. And a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. There is second fireworks show on Sunday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. The Fourth of July Parade is on July 4, starting at 1:00 PM.


Village of Palatine July 1 to 5

The 2010 Hometown Fest will take place at Community Park (near the intersection of Palatine Road and Hicks Road ) opening on Thursday July 1st through Monday July 5th. The parade through downtown Palatine is on July 3 at 10:00 a.m. Fireworks are held on Sunday, July 4 at 9:30 p.m. Hometown Fest features carnival rides, musical entertainment, food, crafts and family activities.

Park Ridge July 2

The Park Ridge fireworks show is at Maine East High School on July 2 at dusk.At 8:00 p.m. the Park Ridge Fine Arts Symphony Orchestra will present a medley of patriotic music including Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.


Des Plaines July 4

Des Plaines is celebrating 4th of July for America and the 175th birthday for Des Plaines. The parade, Happy 175th Birthday, Des Plaines! Celebrating Our Past, Present and Future, steps off on Sundy, July 4 at 1:00 p.m. At 4:00 p.m. The grounds at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Rd., will be available for picnicking and face painting. The fireworks, provided by Mad Bomber, will get underway after 9:00 p.m.

Elk Grove Village July 4

Lion’s Club Independence Day Fireworks on Sunday, July 4 at 9 pm at Lions Park. Concessions open at 6:00 p.m.

Village of Roselle July 4

The Village of Roselle will celebrate 4th of July with a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. at Lake Park High School West Campus, 500 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue.
