Fourth of July Events in Columbus, Ohio

Independence day is right around the corner and by now, many central Ohioans are scheduling time for cookouts, family trips, and fireworks. Here's a list of the fun events that will take place in celebration of this Fourth of July.

The Columbus Symphony Picnic with the Pops: Patriotic Pops

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra has mesmerized audiences for years, and promises to do it again with this year's Patriotic Pops which will be conducted by Albert-George Schram.

Independence Day Flea Market

The days of neighborhood fun and dancing in the streets are not over. According to information located online for this event, the festivities for the Independence Day Flea Market will include a parade, a live deejay, a community dance, and fireworks at 10 P.M. at Big Walnut High School.

Independence Day Celebration at Dublin Coffman High School

This free event is also scheduled for July 4, 2009, but will instead feature a parade through Dublin, Ohio's historic district and live music provided by a national recording artist (TBA). The evening will end with a fireworks show which will take place at 9:50 P.M.

Gahanna Freedom Festival
The Gahanna Municipal Golf Course is opening its grounds to friends and neighbors for what they're calling "a star spangled day, fun-filled and action-packed for all ages." The day will open with the Gahanna Lions Parade and will continue with a wide array of activities that are sure to entertain the whole family.

Red, White & Boom! (Of course!)
On Friday, July 3, 2009, join thousands of Ohioans from neighoborhoods near and far as we celebrate Independence Day with food, fun, and the most spectacular fireworks display in the region. This event will take place downtown on the riverfront near the Arena District. The festivities will begin at 10:00 A.M; fireworks will begin at 10:30 P.M. As always, admission is totally free.
