Fourth of July crafts

Fourth of July is just around the corner, but that doesn’t mean it is too late for you to get crafting and decorate your home with red, white, and blue! There are so many options for what to make, but here are a couple easy ideas for you that will really make a statement. Paint Chip Garland- Here’s an option that you can do basically for free. To start grab a selection of red, white, and blue paint chip samples. Using a star shaped stencil, trace and cut out multiple stars of each color. The number you cut out depends on how long you want your garland to be. Once you have them all cut out use needle and thread to sew through each star to make a chain. Want the process to go quicker? Line your stars up and use a sewing machine to join them together. Then hang up wherever you prefer. It would look great along a banister, your mantle, or along an outside railing! Hand and Foot Print American Flag – This idea is a great one to get the kids involved in. All you need is a large poster board and some red and blue paint. Pour out some paint onto a paper plate or something that you can easily dip your hand and foot into to make good prints. Start by dipping your hands into the blue paint. Make handprints in the top left hand corner of your poster board until you get the size of the blue square you want. Then dip your foot into the red paint. Your foot prints will then become the stripes of the flag by stepping in several straight lines leaving room between each stripe for their to be a blank white space. Let dry and then hang up for your own handmade USA flag. Whatever you make for this holiday enjoy and celebrate!
