Fouracres leads McGill to CIS Women's Hockey Championship

According to the Canadian Interuniversity Sport website, Brittney Fouracres of Airdrie, Alberta scored the overtime winner as the University of McGill Martlets defeated the University of Montreal Carabins 4-3 in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Women's Hockey Championship from Fredericton, New Brunswick on Sunday.

Fouracres scored the game winning goal at the 37 second mark of double overtime on the power play from Leslie Oles and Gabrielle Davidson.

According to Rob Kerr of Rogers Sportsnet, Fouracres attended Edge School, 15 minutes west of Calgary.

A defenseman, Fouracres also helped team Canada win a gold medal at the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino, Italy this past December. Canada defeated Russia 5-0 in the gold medal game.

This is the fourth time the University of McGill has won the CIS Women's Hockey Championship. They previously won in 2008, 2009 an 2011. Calgary will host the 2015 CIS Women's Hockey Championship from March 12-15.
