Four Winds Casino earns multiple industry awards

South Bend gamblers may be interested to know that Four Winds Casino Resort in New Buffalo, Mich. has recently been awarded 34 awards from different trade and consumer media publications in the Michigan and Indiana regions. Fine dining was at the top of the list with Copper Rock Steakhouse, which won Wine Spectator’s 2011 "Award of Excellence." This is the fourth year the casino has won this award. Wine Spectator awards recognize those restaurants whose wine lists offer distinctive selections, are appropriate to their cuisine, and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. Copper Rock has more than 450 wines available by the bottle or the glass, making Four Winds a great place to not only play the hottest slot and table games, but also a fine dining destination located just over the Indiana border.

The casino won seven first place awards (out of 14 awards in total awarded to Four Winds) from the 2011 Midwest Gaming & Travel Readers Choice survey, and three first place awards in Casino Player magazine’s 2011 "Best of Gaming" competition. The first place awards given to Four Winds by Midwest Gaming include: "Favorite Casino Hotel," "Best High-Limit Area," "Best Cash Back," "Best Players Club Parties," "Best Casino Hosts," "Favorite Fine Dining Restaurant" (once again for Copper Rock Steakhouse), and "Most Comfortable Hotel Rooms." The Casino Player magazine first place awards received include: "Best Hotel," "Best Poker Tournaments," and "Best Bar/Lounge/Players Club Lounge."

Earlier this year, Four Winds was voted "Best Casino" by readers of the South Bend Tribune in its 2011 "Reader’s Choice" awards and "Best Hotel" in the Times of Northwest Indiana’s 2011 "Best of the Region" awards. This is in addition to being voted "Best Hotel" in the Times of Northwest Indiana's 2011 "Best of the Region" awards for the second consecutive year.

The amenities at Four Winds will only get better, with the announcement of an expansion earlier this summer that will add an entertainment venue and additional hotel rooms, set to be completed in 2010. Four Winds is currently putting the finishing touches on their newest property, Four Winds Casino Hartford, which opens on Aug. 30. The Hartford property will be a smaller version of their existing casino in New Buffalo, and is also a close drive for South Bend area gamblers.
