Four ways to get a free cell phone

See also

If you are looking to get a free cell phone, there is hope for you. With that, here are four ways to get a free cell phone.

Contract

Many mainstream or more popular cell phone companies will give you a free cell phone to have you as a customer. However, you more than likely will be required to sign a contract agreeing to a certain length of service with the company.

On that note, if you do not mind signing a contract, check out the major cell phone service providers in your area for deals. You may be coming home with one of the best phones in the market at no cost to you.

SafeLink

SafeLink is a government sponsored cell phone service providing program. People who meet certain criteria can get a free cell phone and service plan. If you receive governments benefits such as food stamps or Medicaid, and your income is below a select level, you may qualify.

Assurance Wireless

Assurance Wireless is another government sponsored cell phone service program. Its requirements for qualification and services provided are almost exactly the same as SafeLink.

The few differences between SafeLink and Assurance Wireless would come in their plan offers. An example would be one provider offering more free services such as minutes or texts in a given marketing period.

Ask

Last but not the least, many people have additional cell phones laying around their house. Therefore, ask the people you know if they have any cell phones that they may not need and are willing to give away.
