On Tuesday the MAC announced the All-Academic Teams for both the men's and women's track & field teams, and four RedHawks received the end-of-year honor. Samantha Gable, Katie Lenahan and Rachel Patterson were all named from the women's squad, while Matt Losi represented the men's team.
Ten other RedHawks were dubbed Honorable Mentions, with five coming from both the men and women. Robbie Fisher, Jordan Goffena, Matt Marol, David Serrano and Jack Spilman were the men's nominees. The five ladies named were Rachael Clay, Jillian Dickman, Ruth Rasch, Katie Scannell and Ashley Zaper.
While 28 female student-athletes from across the conference were named All-Academic this year, the men's team was much smaller; only eight MAC men made the cut. To be named to the All-Academic team, a cumulative GPA of 3.20 must be maintained while competing in 50% of the team's contests. First-years and transfers are not eligible.
