Four thousand plus participate in Race Against Racism

Over 4,000 people participated in the YWCA Race Against Racism yesterday. The top four runners all finished within 15 minutes. While everyone who participated was considered a winner, the first to cross the finish line was Mourad Marofit, of Jackson Heights, NY. He finished in 0:14:23. The top local runner was Tim Getz, of Lancaster, with a time of 0:16:05, who finished eighth.

Grab your dancing shoes! Buddy Holly comes alive at the Fulton Theatre. Tonight’s performance begins at 7:30 p.m. The show continues through 11 May.

Zenkaikon VIII concludes today. The Lancaster Convention Center has been home to the likes of Spiderman, The Green Lantern, and many other characters since Friday. Today’s shows hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Convention Center is located at 25 S. Queen Street.

The Lancaster Barnstormers finish up their four day stretch with the Sugar Land Skeeters today. Lancaster has won two of the three games played thus far. The next time the Barnstormers will be home is 1 May.

The NetCo Dance Company returns to the Ware Center today. The company will perform “Under the Bed” at 4 p.m. General admission tickets are $15. Students are $5. The Ware Center is located at 42 North Prince Street.

The flushing of the water distribution system by Lancaster Public Works is continues through 30 May. If your water appears cloudy, let it run for a moment. If the problem continues, call the Water Quality Lab at 717-291-4818.
