Four Texas men arrested for armed robbery at casino parking lot

On Sunday, April 20, 2014, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a casino on Highway 109 South in Vinton, in reference to an armed robbery in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the two victims who advised while sitting inside their vehicle in the parking lot of the casino, they were approached by two men, later identified as Darius M. Mikel, 19, Houston, and Jacoven D. Levi, 19, Orange, Texas, who was armed with a handgun, and demanded money.

After stealing the victim’s cell phones and wallets, Mikel and Levi fled the casino parking lot in a car.

After the Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive search of the area and was unable to immediately locate Mikel and Levi, a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) was issued for the car. Moments later, deputies located Mikel and Levi and the car they fled in traveling westbound on I-10 near the Louisiana/Texas state line and apprehended them without incident.

Deputies recovered the victim’s stolen cell phone and wallets, as well as a handgun from inside the car.

Deputies also arrested passengers Donald F. Griffin-Gosey, 19, and Darrius J. Arnold, 22, both of Orange, Texas. All were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Levi is charged with armed robbery with a handgun; and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Mikel, Griffin-Gosey, and Arnold are all charged with principle to armed robbery with a handgun.

All of their bonds are still pending.
