Four people were shot late Sunday night at an apartment complex in Columbia – and police believe the shooting was gang related.

But they are still trying to determine the motive as well as who fired the shots. So far, police have not released the identities of the victims.

The shootings occurred shortly after 11 p.m. at Latimer Monor, according to Columbia police.

Investigators said the male victims were standing outside of the location at 100 Lorick Circle when several shots were fired, striking them, police spokeswoman Ms. Jennifer Timmons said in a news release.

“Three of the victims were shot at least two times,” Ms. Timmons said. “According to medical staff, one is listed in critical condition.”

The other victims did not receive life-threatening injuries, she said.

One victim flagged down an officer at the 3600 block of North Main Street after allegedly running there for safety.
Several unoccupied vehicles were also damaged by bullets during the shooting.

“Investigators believe the shooting in gang-related as the victims are documented gang members,” Ms. Timmons said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call crimestoppers at (888) 274-6372.
