The Four Seasons Hotel Austin, one of downtown Austin’s top luxury hotels, has changed ownership.

Prudential Real Estate Investors Inc. said it bought the nine-story, 291-room hotel in a joint venture with Lodging Capital Partners LLC. The purchase price wasn’t disclosed.

“The high quality of the Austin Four Seasons combined with its prime location downtown is precisely why it is a good fit with our core property strategy,” said Catherine Marcus, managing director and portfolio manager at Prudential Real Estate Investors.

Lodging Capital Partners and Syndicated Equities Group LLC bought the hotel in 2006 and later completed an $11.4 million renovation.

Parsippany, N.J.-based Prudential Real Estate Investors is the real estate investment management and advisory arm of Prudential Financial Inc. Chicago-based Lodging Capital Partners is an owner and asset manager of luxury hotels. Syndicated Equities is a private real estate investment firm with offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C.

The Four Seasons was built in 1987. It’s at 98 San Jacinto Blvd. along Lady Bird Lake.
