Police in Polk County, Wis., are investigating a disturbing case of animal cruelty after a dog owner reported the death of four, young puppies who were killed on Saturday afternoon, reported Sunday's KSTP News.
The Wrezzes family of Amery made the terrible discovery this weekend; one puppy was discovered on a sidewalk near the family's home, the other three puppies were dead inside of the garage.
According to the family, the six-week-old puppies, three huskies and a chow chow, appear to have been crushed; a family member told KSTP News:
There was no claw marks or anything, it was just, they were smashed."
The cruel act took place while the family was at home.
Deputies said that it appeared that whoever committed the violent act, made their way into the garage just to kill the pups - nothing seems to have been taken from the residence.
The authorities are hoping to find the person(s) responsible for this crime. Anyone with tips or information is asked to call the Polk County Sheriff's Office at 715-485-8300.
