When the 2012-13 season tips off the Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team will have many gaps to fill. Last season’s entire starting lineup has graduated and will be sorely missed this fall. But today, three of those starters, and another former-Lady Vol, marked the beginning of their professional careers.

Here are the Lady Vols drafted today at the WNBA Draft, which was held at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut.

Wooden Award and Wade Trophy finalist Shekinna Stricklen was selected 2nd overall by the Seattle Storm.

Last season’s SEC Defensive Player of the Year Glory Johnson was selected 4th overall by the Tulsa Shock.

With the 7th pick of the draft, the New York Liberty surprised many analysts with its selection of former-Lady Vol Kelley Cain, who ended her collegiate career following the 2010-11 season due to chronic injuries.

Vicki Baugh, who was also bitten by the injury bug throughout her college years, was selected 25th overall and will join Glory Johnson as a member of the Tulsa Shock.

Stanford’s Nnemkadi Ogwumike was selected 1st overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.
