The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced this year's finalists for its enshrinement class and there are four former 49ers that are on the list: Charles Haley, former owner Eddie DeBartolo Jr., Larry Allen and Kevin Greene. Semifinalist Roger Craig did not make the cut.
Haley was a fourth-round pick by the 49ers in 1986 and is the only player in NFL history to have played on five winning Super Bowl teams. Haley twice was named NFC Defensive Player of the Year (1990, 1994) and was voted to five Pro Bowls over his career. For the 49ers, he helped the team win two Super Bowls.
This is the second time DeBartolo has made the finalist list and it could be one of the last opportunities for him to get in. He was the owner and one of the main reasons for all five 49ers' Super Bowl championships.
Greene was a finalist last season and was a key defensive linemen for the 49ers in his only season in 1997.
Allen spent the last two years of his career with the 49ers from 2006-2007 and was most remembered for being a franchise guard for the Dallas Cowboys.
