After three months of renovation the Turf Club is set to re-open under new ownership this Saturday. First Avenue, which has booked shows at Turf Club since 2000, took over operations in October and temporarily shut down the club this spring. To celebrate the re-opening of Turf Club, the Twin Cities hip-hop team of P.O.S. and Astronaulatis join forces on stage armed as FOUR FISTS.

P.O.S (Rhymesayers/Doomtree) made his name as a gifted risk-taker, fashioning head-nodding beats from strange noises, and writing anthemic lyrics from unexpected vantage points. Astronautalis is part emcee, part method actor, with an uncanny ability to channel characters on the edge—of a breakdown, of a revelation, of a fistfight.

In an interview with 89.3 The Current, First Avenue general manager Nate Kranz says Turf Club will have the same aesthetic with improved bathrooms and a full food service menu via a new in-house kitchen.

Tickets for the FOUR FISTS re-opening show can be purchased on Turf Club's wesbite. The show also includes a performance by Solid Gold and special guests.
