If you’re one of those people that think you can only get a quality facial with a plump price tag, think again. Did you know the best facials and masks could be made with simple ingredients in your fridge? Here’s four great at home masks that are chemical free and easy to make.

For acne and blackhead prone skin, the best masks primarily contain tomato and lemon. Take an over-ripe tomato, scoop out the insides, and mash the remaining. Squeeze one teaspoon of lemon and mix or puree tomato and lemon with one teaspoon of oatmeal. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes then rinse with warm water and pat dry. The mask should result in clearing blackheads and fighting acne and blemishes while the oatmeal keeps your skin nourished.

To brighten and plump your face, mix together one tbsp. of Greek yogurt (the brightener), coffee grinds (the plumper), cinnamon, honey, and a squirt of lemon. Massage the mask on your face as you apply. Wait 15 minutes and then wash off. Your face may smell like coffee afterwards, so try to do this mask before you take a shower. The yogurt contains lactic acid that may help clear blemishes, discoloration, and reduce wrinkles. Honey helps the skin retain moisture. Watch your face instantly glow!

Surprisingly, a moisturizing mask has the simplest ingredients. Take half an avocado and mash it well with olive oil or coconut oil. In the same respect, rubbing coconut oil on your face for 20 minutes will provide plenty of moisture. For those with oily or combination skin, leaving coconut oil on for too long or overnight may cause breakouts.

To create an exfoliating mask, scoop two tbsp. of brown sugar into a small bowl. Add two tbsp. of natural honey, squeeze half a lemon in the bowl, and stir well. Brown sugar is used in many skin care products because it is made with some of the world’s finest oils. It will moisturize and rejuvenate skin as it gently removes dead skin cells. The honey will kill germs, clean pores, and prevent wrinkles. The lemon is a natural astringent. Massage into clean face for five minutes and leave as a mask for 10 to 15 minutes then wash with warm water.

Make sure before you apply any mask that your face is clean. Rinse with warm water to open up pores for the ultimate in fresh, glowing skin.
