Four classic movies to watch for National Dog Day

Sorry to all the cats out there, today Aug. 26 is National Dog Day! If you love dogs and classic movies the list of movies below is perfect for you then. Get the popcorn, the dog by your side, and rent some movies. Here's the list:

1. "Lady and the Tramp" (1955)

"Lady and the Tramp," is a classic Disney movie that was directed by Clyde Geronimi, Wilfred Jackson and Hamilton Luske. It was produced by Walt Disney. Barabra Luddy voiced Lady and Larry Roberts did the voice Tramp. Even singer Peggy Lee was in the cast.

2. "Benji" (1974)

"Benji" was directed by Joe Camp and starred Higgins (he played Benji), Patsy Garrett, Peter Breck, and Mark Slade. It's a beloved classic dog film that holds a 86% on Rotten Tomatoes and 6 out 10 on IMDb. "Benji" is about a stray dog that sets out to resuce two children that are kidnapped.

3. "Old Yeller" (1957)

"Old Yeller" is that film that many of us have cried while watching. "Old Yeller" has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with good reason, this Walt Disney produced movie is one that many grew up with. Robert Stevenson directed the movie and the movie starred Dorothy McGuire, Fess Parker, and Kevin Corcoran.

4. "Courage of Lassie" (1946)

Fred M. Wilcox directed Elizabeth Taylor in this Lassie movie. It's the third Lassie movie that came out, the first movie was called "Lassie Come Home." Taylor and Lassie fans will enjoy the family picture.
