Four unique ways to use an iphone

Twenty years ago people would be blown away by the amount of gadgets that we possess now. The measure of what can be done on an iPhone and android devices is almost limitless. Now we have access to any kind of information at any time of the day. Accessories are making iPhones capable of doing almost anything. The big question is, are they really necessary? Here are four products for your device that are awesome but really not essential.

1. Ion 2 go Photo Slide and Negative Scanner ($59.99): Have a lot of old negatives and slides around that you want to convert to digital? This handy accessory promises high resolution scanning and even a Facebook share option. It is not as easy to find a photo finishing place let alone one that does slides. This actually might be worth the price.

2. iDevices iGrill Grilling/Cooking BBQ Thermometer ($99.99): This high tech thermometer is made to alert you when your food is ready. Using Bluetooth technology this devices promises to make sure that your food will never be overcooked. The downloadable app that is available allows the you to track the progress of your food. The thermometer can also be used as a normal thermometer if you do not have an apple or android device and like to spend one hundred dollars on a thermometer. This product is awesome, but not really essential.

3. 3M projector sleeve ($229.99): This projector sleeve boasts that it is perfect for sharing your photos and videos on your iPhone device. It attaches easily enough and has one- button functionality. It is pretty simple to use, but the price is the major downfall. Two hundred plus dollars is a lot of spend on this product. If you want to show your friends a video clip of a cat falling out of window that bad you might as well buy a tablet with that money.

4. Magnifi by Arcturus Labs: ($79.99): This product is one of the first of its kind. It is a photo adapter case that easily fits your iPhone device then attaches easily to almost anything with an eyepiece. These items include high- end cameras, telescopes, and microscopes. It allows you to take videos and stills of whatever is shown in these objects. Want to take a picture of the stars? Well than this product is for you! This adapter is not really essential but it is pretty awesome.

One girl’s opinion: The iGrill thermometer seems to be the worst out of all of these. It honestly seems like even more work to set up the device then it is to keep an eye on your steak. The best value out of these four items is the Ion 2 Go Photo Slide and Negative Scanner. The price is around the same as a decent standalone negative scanner. It also eliminates the step of loading it to your computer with their companion app. While these accessories are awesome, they are way too pricey. Yet they are fantastic examples on how to utilize your iPhone or android device to its full potential.
