Four arrested with burglary tools, gun in Massapequa (Photos)

Four people were arrested while sitting in a car on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa early Tuesday after officers found burglary tools and a gun in the vehicle, Nassau County police said.

Plainclothes officers were on patrol near Grove St. and Seaford Ave. in Massapequa around 2:10 a.m., when they noticed vehicle parked across from a side gate of LI Power Sports at 4116 Sunrise Highway.

The officers saw a bolt cutter and pry bar in the back seat of the car, police said in a news release. After the officers obtained consent to search the car, they found a 9mm handgun in the trunk, as well as numerous ski masks and gloves inside the car, said police.

The four occupants of the vehicle, Kysaan Goff, 17, of Uniondale, Asia Brodas, 21, of Hempstead, Corey Fitzgerald, 21, of Hempstead, and Jesse Baldwin, 19, of Freeport, were arrested.

All four were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and possession of burglary tools. They were held overnight in police custody and are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
